Zenos Frudakis—The Monument Man

Zenos Frudakis, known as the Monument Man, has spent the last fifty years sculpting life out of bronze, aiming to capture the likeness and spirit of his subjects, and to shine a light on those who have helped foster change in the world. Zenos is recognized for his public monuments, portrait statues, busts and figurative sculptures. Freedom, his best known work, has become an Internet icon, inspiring many in their quest to break free from boundaries. Zenos' sculpture Freedom has been listed in The Top Ten: Public Art by The Independent.

Explore an extensive award-winning array of more than 100 bronze sculptures in public and private collections throughout the US and overseas, created over four decades by Zenos Frudakis, including The United States Air Force Memorial Honor Guard, Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and statues from John D. MacArthur  to Dame Lois Browne-Evans. His work includes sculptures of historic figures such as Benjamin Franklin, Albert Einstein, General Dwight D. Eisenhower and Sir Winston Churchill, as well as contemporary figures like Sandy Tatum, Michael Kahn and Jack Nicklaus.

The collection includes portrait sculptures of musicians Don McLean and Nina Simone, as well as athletes Payne Stewart, Mike Schmidt, Arnold Palmer and Joe DiMaggio. Corporate commissions include public monuments, portrait statues, portrait busts and oil paintings of corporate leaders.
